About the company:

Allinotte Law Office Professional Corporation is a small law firm located in the heart of Downtown Cornwall.

Michele Allinotte founded the firm in 2009 and in 2015 acquired the practice of long time Cornwall lawyer, Donald White. Michele is a long-term resident of the area and resides with her two children only a few blocks from her childhood home.

Michele graduated with an undergraduate degree from Queen’s University in 1998 and from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Laws in 2001. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2002. She has worked at firms in Ottawa, North Bay and Cornwall.

She opened Allinotte Law Office Professional Corporation in October of 2009, with her practice limited to business law, estate planning and estates, and real estate. The firm is the realization of Michele’s vision of providing the best client service possible in a warm, welcoming environment.

Michele uses technology to make her practice more efficient and environmentally friendly. Allinotte Law Office Professional Corporation is a “less paper” office, using electronic documents and correspondence over printed paper. This, combined with the office’s technology infrastructure, allows team members to work offsite as needed or on a full time basis.

Michele is also an enthusiastic user of social media and has been profiled in several publications for her social media usage and has spoken to several local groups about the topic.

Michele is a past member of the Executive of the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Law Association and current By-Law Review Committee chair, past co-chair of the Solo & Small Firm Conference, current co-chair of TECHxpo, as well as a past speaker at a number of Law Society of Upper Canada and Ontario Bar Association events. She been profiled or published in a number of legal publications including the ABA’s Law Practice Management Magazine, Law Pro Magazine and Precedent Magazine, which awarded her with a Precedent Setter Award in 2010. Michele has been representing East region at the Ontario Bar Association Council since 2012 and is currently the editor of the Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Section newsletter.

An active member of her community, Michele is proud to be involved with a number of local organizations, including Women Entrepreneurs, Team Cornwall, the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre Advisory Board, the Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry Liberal Association Executive, the Cornwall Business Association and the Agape Centre Within These Walls Building Campaign Committee. She is currently on hiatus from the Rotary Club of Cornwall, who named her a Paul Harris Fellow.

Michele prides herself on her friendly and approachable nature, and her team shares this style of working with clients. She listens individually to the needs of each client and does not believe in a “one size fits all” approach to any legal issue. With more complex matters, Michele prefers a team approach, working with other professionals and advisors to best meet the needs of the client.
